Pre-Migration Email Notices

 
If you manage your email with Verio, there are a few things you can do now to make your account’s migration go more smoothly. Please note that if you use Zimbra, we have additional information for you below.

 
1. Save Your Calendar Information

We are not able to migrate calendars to the new platform; we apologize for any inconvenience. If you’re using calendar functionality with your email addresses, please save your appointments now, so you can add them back to your calendar once your account has been migrated.

 
2. Clean Up Your Email

Our migration quality assurance testing covers your whole account, including any mailboxes you’ve set up. We’ve found that one of the most common reasons an account’s migration gets delayed is because one or more mailboxes are full of messages that are no longer needed.

If you’ve previously set up a mailbox and are no longer using it — i.e., it’s just collecting spam! — we encourage you to clean it up or delete it. And even for mailboxes that you’re actively using, deleting messages you no longer need could help expedite your account’s migration. (Please note that messages in your trash folder will not be migrated.)

 
Zimbra Customers:

Please note that, on the new platform, we will be upgrading and modernizing your mail services. Once your account has been migrated, you’ll be able to access your mail via Roundcube, a premium webmail solution. Plus, you’ll get the following:

  • You’ll be able to create an unlimited number of mailboxes. No more limits!
  • We’re doubling the storage quota for each of your existing mailboxes.
  • All your increased quota levels are now flexible, meaning you can apply them in any combination to any of your boxes.

In addition, you’ll receive our new platform’s premium spam protection, and access to automated website backup for files and databases … all at no extra charge.

That said, the migration does create a little bit of work for you — we will not be able to transfer your calendar or contacts directly into Roundcube. Instead, calendar information and contacts will be accessible to you post-migration via .zip files, and you will need to import them manually. We’ll include instructions for where to access these .zip files via our post-migration email.

When the migration is complete, we will send you a confirmation email with instructions for reviewing your services on the new platform.
