For security reasons, all mailbox passwords will be regenerated as part of the migration process. We apologize for the inconvenience, but we want to be certain the integrity of your mail is maintained.
Right before the migration happens, we will email all mailbox holders with a new password they can use to access their accounts going forward. After the migration, when they next check their mail, this password-change notice should be at the top of their inbox.
The message (previewable here) will come from “Verio” and include a brief note about the platform migration — please let your mailbox holders know to expect it.
After the migration is complete, you’ll be able to log into your new-platform control panel and reset passwords for your users if there is a need for that. (Don’t reset them prior to the migration because the migration will overwrite your changes.) Steps are below:
- Log into your new-platform control panel.
- Go to MailCentral, the new-platform email management interface.
- Select the mailbox you want to update.
- Change the password in the “Basic Info” tab for this mailbox.
- Let the mailbox holder know the new password.
